TENAX® PELLETIZED MILLED PRODUCTS
Tenax® pelletized milled carbon fibers are random, short-length fiber materials employing a low-level binder to provide pellet integrity during processing. Typically, the fiber lengths range from about <100 to 450 microns in length. The aspect ratio of individual fibers is sufficient to provide both mechanical reinforcement and electrical conductivity to polymer compounds. Additionally, compounds containing milled carbon fibers provide higher heat distortion temperatures, and superior thermal conductivity compared to the unreinforced polymer. Pelletized milled products offer all of the performance benefits of regular milled carbon fibers in a free flowing, dust and "fly" free spherical form. The pelletized milled grades are ideally suited for automatic feeding and metering of the material into compounding extruders. Plastic components reinforced with pelletized milled carbon fibers are dimensionally stable and distortion-free. Typical applications include electronic chip carrier trays, and chassis for electronic business machines. Toho Tenax reserves the right to upgrade manufacturing processes and raw materials without notice, in compliance with our approach on pelletized milled fiber product improvement.
