TENAX® WATER DISPERSIBLE PRODUCTS

Tenax® carbon fibers are offered sized with a water-soluble sizing that permits easy dispersion into a randomly oriented system with no individual fibers remaining bonded together. The sizing, which is very soluble in aqueous systems, is applied at a level that does not interfere with subsequent processing, resin wet-out, or matrix-to-fiber bonding.

Customers and processes that require these particular characteristics typically employ a water slurry process to make conductive paper or mat. The areal weights of an all-carbon fiber mat can range from 0.1 oz. per square yard (3.4 grams per square meter) to 10 oz. per square yard (340 grams per square meter). These grades of fibers can also be co-blended with other types of fibers to offer unique, tailored advantages, depending on the application requirements. Toho Tenax reserves the right to upgrade manufacturing processes and raw materials without notice, in compliance with our approach on chopped fiber product improvement.
